    Default Crested Tit

These guys do not hang around for long and move like a bullet, so to get a shot of one with it's crest slightly raised was OK. This was shot at the edge of the pine forest, the soft green is in fact the start of another forest some 100m away. The perch is a branch that is still attached to the tree.

I love the perch too...it has great character! Awesome IQ, very detailed and well composed. Lovely BG provided by the distant forest. Although the HA is OK, it would have been perfect had it been turned a wee bit more towards us. Still, I wish this was mine!!

    Cheers guys, WOW Daniel.

Hi Jonathan, yep up in the Cairngorms, there are a few places, but as you can appreciate, light & weather is in very little supply and what you see, juxtapose to shoot are/can be be polls apart. Light can fade just as quick as thee birds arrive so not real chance to settle down. The pine trees have great character and with the lichen that has taken hundreds of years to grow indicating a pollution free environment, it all makes for a great location.

    cheers

Beautiful bird, beautiful perch. A very nice capture under what I'm sure were difficult conditions. Wonderful detail.

Thanks guys really do appreciate any feedback. Avian is still an area I need to develop, as it tends to be more of a spin off from what I originally went out for ie Brown hares I get Little owls, Red squirrels I get Cresties, fun fun, fun...

    cheers
