    Hi everyone,

This is my first post in this section,

Back from a bird photography workshop in Florida few weeks ago, here is a Least Bittern from Viera Wetlands. What a productive site ! It would be nice to have such a site here in Montreal.

Your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Really great Pierre! I saw few pictures of the same type in the past. Many of them have of are not so well balance with light. Your is just perfectly done with any hash shadow!

    See you!

Beautiful Bird, very nice pose and very good sharpness on the eye and feathers.

The only thing I would think about would be to lighten the top third of the BG, its seems like there is a shadow like going across the top. This would balance out the tones in the image.

Really nice capture of a hard to see bird. The darker top doesn't bother me, and if anything I would darken the other edges just a touch to keep the eye on the subject. Our eyes can wander out of the frame if there is a light enough edge pretty easily.

Classic Bittern, a little tight at the bottom for my taste.

Great captures. It's always hard to tell on these small images but it looks a little soft (the feet and breast feathers in particular) and could use some more sharpening. It may be fine in the full size image though. One of the nicer bittern images that I've seen. The green reeds are a nice habitat for them to be photographed in.

I like everything about this one--esp. the COMP--other than the whitish stuff on some of the reeds.

Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions. The white spots on the reeds can easily be removed.

Very nice. I like the way it looks like he is opening up the reeds to take a look around. Nice colors and environmental inclusion as well.

Excellent capture Pierre. Nancy (Flygirl) and I were shooting the bittern along with your group. I was amazed that a group of what seemed to be mainly Germans had discovered the Vierra Wetlands.
