I set this up in the back garden. I sprinkled Niger seeds on the teasel head and placed it near to a feeding station containing Niger seed.

Beautiful subject and perch. The bird is a bit too centered - a little less space behind the bird and a little more in front would have been ideal. When you worked on the BG, the cloning results are obvious in the lower rh corner, and to a lesser degree in the upper rh corner of the image. You might also lighten the birds face. You have a nice set up and should ensure that it is placed where your shadow is pointing at the bird so you will have direct frontal lighting, then photograph in soft early light to avoid shadowing,

Love the perch and the sharp details all around are fanatastic. Very nice image.

    Linda mentioned the BG problem.

Thanks very much Linda & Robert, boy you guys really do look at these images don't you? I hadn't noticed the background problem and it took me a few takes to find even when you pointed it out!
Will remember the lighting, maybe consider a little fill in flash.
