    D3 200f2 + TC17EII (340mm) f/6.3 1/1600 -1EV ISO1600 HH Soft late afternoon light (either in shade or overcast)
    Whites work - LAB curves (x6) Topaz Infocus, Detail & Denoise, sharpening, was underexposed (not ettr, anyway)

    Beautiful detail and tonality in the whites Michael. I really like this aspect of the image. Nice sharpness and non-distracting BG. Because the reflection is already cut I would crop even more but leave room for the virtual feet.

    Nice portrait, the lighting is very even and allows for more definition in the bird's feather. One thing I might experiment with is selectively darkening the water to make the bird stand out more.

    if you have the full reflection i would consider taking some off the top and including the reflection, otherwise remove as much as u can
