Love it Keith, its so sharp It looks over sharp, can count the hairs on this, and those green eyes it can only be Salayexe, Great shot.

Tremendous. great detail and mesmerizing eyes. When I looked at the thumbnail, I thought it was overbalanced to the left but when I looked at the larger version, that sense disappeared. Beautiful color. I agree that there may be a bit of oversharpening here.

Took a bit of the sharpening out and softened it a bit

Hi Keith Sure is a strong image !!! Love the tight composition Agree with the over sharpened nose area

Looking at the tech info no sure why would you want to make the image at ISO200 If you feel comfortable holding the lens steady at that low shutter speed at least you will be able to stop down for dof The critical focus is on the eyes but dof shallow so the nose look oof Would not hesitate going to 800 for this image Big Congrats on this one !!!

Super strong as presented Keith. I'll side with Alfred on this one.........if you had gone with the higher ISO for more DOF......we wouldn't have word to explain it!

    Keith,

I like the composition - strong look to the image.

I am going to break with the pack here and say that sharpness is an issue here. But I don't think it is the focusing that is the issue but the processing. See http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ead.php?t=5598 on the bottom for Artie's method of sharpening a JPG for posting. I have found when I got this look it was due to my wokflow allowing a Resampling of the image when I resized from high-res to 96ppi for the JPG. You don't resample image when using Image Resize. Anyway give Artie's method a try.

I feel the image is oversharpened and hence ruined. The eyes are the strong point, but the nose area is out of focus. The oversharpening has made the hair in the nose area coarse. I will suggest a pano around the eyes.

    A Question
This image is not from my pc, but copied from my web site . pasted onto my work desktop and then uploaded here, will this degrade the image?

    Hi Keith,
each time you redo a jpeg like that............you lose information.....so IMO........the short answer is yes!
