    Default Black Brant Flap

Went up to see my Brants today--photographed this one taking a flap.
The black brant actually has a lot of brownish, underlying feathers.

Good timing, nice light and the wing position is sweet.

The head, eyes, bill would look much sharper with some selective USM, a 2.5 second job at the most. I would run some curves for some more punch but thats a pers pref.

I'll echo Robert's suggestions as well.

    Hi Bonnie,
I like the pose you captured. Interesting how the water stayed so still while he flapped.

Good composition and great pose. The reflection adds interest also. Very well done. Agree that a little selective sharpening on the head will improve this already fine image.
