This is a wonderful execution one would go back to home with pack-up session while some would make use of down light effect like you did here.
the formation of birds placed well in frame is the key factor here .. Just wished that hard thin line on top should not be there or mild.

I love the abstract quality of this. I like the framing and don't mind the upper line at all. Wonderful job.

What a wonderful image KD!! You really made sure not to blow out the bills now did you!! I love the pano crop. I'm OK with the orange band above, just not crazy about the dark line within it. Well seen

thx. A caption I have in mind is 'waiting for the ship to arrive'. any other fun captions come to your mind? lets have some fun.

I really like the setting here KD, and just love the patel colours of the BG. I dont mind the top band either, but cropping just below it wont harm the image at all. As Dan stated, an opportunity well used.
Edit. I was typing the same time as you.
How about : " how high is this water going to get?"

This is fantastic!! Love it!! Everything works lovely in here IMHO. Awesome composition.

Great shot Kaustubh. I love it when one stands back and looks at the bigger picture. I think it says "Which way did it go?" Nice job of head positions.

Wow, I love it! Your patience paid off waiting for the head angles as they are awesome. Even down to the great colors of the waters it's perfect.

KD, Only ten? Fantastic on all counts. I love the image design and the dark band at the top. Just curious: were they facing you or facing away? Did you really see ten good head angles or did you use the technique that I use in these situations: blast and pray?

Artie, some are facing me..some away.
When I saw the scene I knew I had to be extremely lucky to pull it off. I glued my eyes to the viewfinder and the strategy was 'concentrate on middle five and let the others fall wherever they may'.... fortunately got it, I must say. I clicked 15 frames probably. Would have tried more but I had to take breaks as some Mallards and other coots were swimming in FG-BG. And this lasted only for a short while as one by one, they all left.

Kaustubh:
This is great. Love the graphic quality, the symmetry with good spacing between all, two on the ends sitting in the water and the arch, all great.
Well seen and captured.
Cheers

Arash, i think your iphone spelling correction is doing some funny things :-)
I wasnt trying to get the heads sqaure to the sensor....anyways my viewfinder isn't great so that was not even possible in low light. All I was looking at was whether I could see the bills on the Coots on the log( the whack-a-mole game strategy...just try to hit the middle three and forget abt the others :-)....clicking when I thought I got a few as I liked. Very lucky to get all of the bills and good HA on most of them in the center of the frame.

Beautiful composition... well executed shot

This is great - I love this sort of thing. The log bowed as it is makes the image for me. The head angles also.
