Julien, nice find indeed. I also like the BG. very sharp face. I'd have loved the body to be equally sharp...stopping down might have done that but light was clearly not there in the shade. Was moving the left possible?
Love the eye contact with the Owl. The green BG is nice, but I'd tone down the bright part to the right of the tree at the bottom. I like Kaustubh's idea about moving to the left slightly in order to get the bird clear of the tree trunk. Normally I'd like more canvas at the bottom of the frame, but since it's OOF tree I think you made the right choice. Did you use flash?
