    Very pretty and interesting photo.
I would take a bit off the right side and add a bit to the bottom if it were mine.
Unique habitat, very sharp and really good IQ.

Nice earthy tones Ken which are repeated in the BG for a good overall effect. Lovely light and exposure on the lioness. Would consider looking at Dan's suggestion of taking some off the right.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will take a look at that, my intent was to have plenty of look into space

    Pieter,

Thanks very much greatly appreciated, the BG is certainly very odd.

    Hi Ken,
I like the wonderful light you had, the warm earthy colours and the composition. I would accept the border on the right, but might consider a little bit more off the top.
Well done and thank you for sharing with us.

Ken - nice light and warm tones. I like the red soil as well. Nice separation from the bg too.

What wonderful and unusual light. I don't think I would take any off the right but maybe a bit off the top. I quite like it!

An interesting and different habitat shot for a lion. Color of the soil is striking and vibrant, a closer inspection shows it to be quite natural to my eye. Would be neat to see one of your cape buffs after just having had a roll in it.

    Steve,

Thanks very much for your comment, I actually have a Buffalo in similar circumstances which is not really up to par mainly because of the missing feet and noise, here it is

The colours/light are superb Ken...love it...especially how the autumn foliage in the BG complements the soil. Nicely framed too...

Just to let everybody know I have responded to Morkel's query by email

    Morkel,

The date that this was taken I think indicates that it was Spring, the leaves in the BG are largely old and dried up, but some had new leaves, the rains were on the way, in fact we had a few drops why we were there.

Thanks Ken. I meant "autumn colours" so these were then the "last vestiges of autumn clinging to the trees" or something like that?

    Morkel,

Can we just agree on the leaves being reddish brown, which certainly is autumnal in some places.

    Sure, Ken.
My thoughts basically revolved around most leaves changing colours to something other than green because of autumn and subsequently winter...
