Snail kite captured with Captain Jim Neiger. Canon 7d with Canon 500 mm f4. 1.1250 @ f7.1. ISO 500. Note bug, which some will doubtless find distracting, while others will see it as an unexpected bonus.
C and C welcomed, as always! Thanks!

Interseting pose, i like the open beak and the snail in talons. The dragonfly is too distracting for me, it is out of focus and gains too much unwanted attention. Maybe if it were on the same focal plane and was as sharp as the kite... I think the image of the kite deserves all of the attention here. There is something funky going on with the BG, more so around the edges, which might be an artifact of the border you placed around.

Love the flight pos and the snail. I agree about losing the dragon.

I agree and am grateful for all the critical points made, and have incorporated them in this repost by losing the dragonfly and the frame, which included some vignetting that I was using to direct attention to the bird. Thanks!
