    Default "The Eagle has landed"

This image was taken in Conneaut Ohio back in September. Ironically enough, I had gone there for shorebird photography which turned out to be a fruitless effort due to activity and numbers. However upon leaving these two juvenile Bald Eagles began to fish inside the harbor less then 100 yards from where we were. I walked out into the harbor and began taking photos. I followed this one as he circled around the backside of the break wall and landed on it facing into the late morning sun. This wing spread shot was taken as the Eagle had just landed on the break wall. I decided to crop it favoring more of the break wall to give a more powerful feel to the Eagle. Thanks for looking and C & C always welcome.

    Josh:
Great wing span shows off the juvi feathers nicely. Exposure looks good.

The perch is a bit different for an eagle, which is good, but I might still be tempted to try a bit tighter crop on the bird is the IQ will allow.

Wish the beak didn't merge with the far wing.

    Cheers

    Randy

Excellent picture, Josh. I like the composition and the wing strech the best.
I was fortunate to have seen and photograph these great birds at the same location a while ago.

I saw this eagle coming in for the landing but could only watch because I was too far away for a decent shot, but there you were out in the middle of the water and I knew you nailed it. Nice comp with that impressive wing stretch.
