Terrific pose, perch, and light. Love the color in the bird! There's a fair amount of noise visible; was this underexposed in camera and recovered in post?

Beautiful portrait - he looks like he is sitting for you! Really wonderful colours and a pleasing perch. Ditto Doug's question on the noise.

    Dear Kasra

I like nice pose, great colors, excellent sharpness & sweet BG. If it was mine, I would used some layer masks before running USM.

    Hi Doug

No, Unfortunately this is a big crop from Original frame, so you see more noise.

Moreover, 500d's Camera Sensor is too noisy!

    Hi yogesh
I had the same question when I was buying this lens.
If only you want to use it for bird photography, I recommend buying 400 f/5.6 for Several reasons.

    It's sharper than 100-400 in 400mm.
It is lighter, so it is easier to carry out & of course it's cheaper.

In other hands, The image stabilization is big advantage of 100-400 over 400 f/5.6.

If you need the best 400mm IQ in this price range, the Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 is a great choice.
