I took this at Tarpon Springs a week ago. I realize sun is a tad hot. I liked the Black Skimmers in the shot. Hope you enjoy it.

    Hi,

I like the shot. I agree, the sun itself is a bit "hot" but the rest looks well exposed. I like the positioning of the horizon. Perhaps the birds could be a little sharper, and either a little more canvas on the left or clone out a couple of the left-most birds. Good overall effect.

    John,

I love these shots, natural habitat with sunrise - good stuff. Assuming this was HH and I see you warmed it with cloudy WB. There are many ways to handle this scene and this looks good. Might take some off the bottom to help the eye flow better and a tripod is always an option. Grad soft filter, maybe 2 stops would help as well. It darkens the top-bright sky and is transparent on the bottom half. You can also work the scene with the dodge and burn tool and enhance select areas. Thanks for sharing, would like to see more sunrise/sunset images in the future from you.

Hi John, very nice image with lovely colors and nice composition. I like your placement of the sun glow in the right-most area of the image, very strong placement. Good work on the crop, with no birds cut in half on the right and left margins. Nice serene feeling and sense of being there. I agree with Jeff on the crop, I would suggest cropping the entire shore area from the bottom, making the image all about the water and the birds in the sky. Well done!
