Default Autumn Red Oak Leaf Details

Shot last weekend while closing-up the cottage for the winter, I tried another leaf vein structure image with Fractalius applied. To shoot this leaf I taped it to the back of a folding lawn chair with scotch tape and shot a section that was being back-lit through an opening in the webbing. Placed the main vein much closer to the corner than in the previous post.

    Look forward to comments.

    Andrew,

Greetings. Cool pattern. I found myself looking at it for a while. Wish there were more detail in the central veins.

    Cheers,

Beautiful composition, Andrew. Fract has definitely brought out features of the leaf. I too keep looking at it just as Michael said. Wonderful colors! I will need to carry a scotch tape and remember the technique next time I see a nice leaf

Like the abstract comp you created with this leaf, Andrew. Great color and filtering work nicely to enhance the details, the backlighting gives it good glow and intensity. I think Michael may have a point regarding more detail in the large veins. Thanks for sharing your work flow.

I'm late to the party, Andrew, but I like this image...just out of curiosity, did the Fractalius treatment just enhance the leaf detail or did it take it someplace completely different? I love the wonderfully complex pattern and design...great color...well thought out composition...would love to see the original image. You're on a roll!
