This is Velvet fronted nuthatch. They are usually found in small groups. Got this cute one last weekend at Coorg ( south India).

    Spec: 1/800, F 5.6, ISO 800

    MK4+500mm+1.4TC

    Regards,

    Kiran.

Holy smokes, what a strikingly beautiful bird! Love the brilliant colors and upside down pose. Excellent IQ, & vertical works well. Wish the lower foot was a bit sharper. Very nicely composed and executed capture as usual, Kiran!

Wow, it is a very good-looking bird. The nuthatch in my country is more grey... The colours are very nice from this bird in his well-known position in a tree.

What a cool looking bird Kiran! Our nuthatches are boring by comparison. I like the excellent fine detail and the slant of the tree, which works well with the pose of the bird.

Bhai, interesting angled pose, and the colours on this guy are really striking. The yellow eye stands out so well from the blues.

99.99 out of 100. Killer colors, pose, setting, head angle, sharpness, image design, toes, BKGR, and optimization. .01 off for the bit of sun on the feet.... SS = simply stunning.... I know a contest where this would do very well.... I'd be smiling too if this were mine :)

Kiran, what a shot you've pulled off. I've seen these beauties only once or twice and can truly appreciate the difficulty level....'passed the test with flying colors' wud be more than apt here.

    pose, colors, IQ...simply WOW.

I add my compliments with everyone else.
    Just a wonderful photo.
They look like the nuthatches here, just a lot more colorful, but the same upside down pose.
    Great shot.
