    Default Lion resting

I have been meaning to post this image for a while, but I'm not sure that I really like it and I don't know why. This is just a fairly basic conversion, almost ff. I don't know whether it is the colours (the bright green grass), or the heavy bush or something completely different. Anyway, maybe someone can tell me or perhaps others will like it as it is!

Lovely pose and surrounding colors. The jaw does not look as sharp as the rest (Motion blur?) Love the environment! Very nice

Thanks Dumay, I have one with the mouth closed so might see if that is sharper.

    Hi Hilary,
I like the composition and your POV. Well done and thanks for sharing.
I might have considered increasing the ISO to 640 to increase the shutter speed and decrease the risk of shake.
    Mark.

Great looking lion, Hilary, and love the resting pose in the strip of shade. Looks like he could use some nice cold water to drink. I tried playing around with adjustments on this Hilary, and pretty much liked it as is. I think taking out some of the yellow does help tone down the grass and maybe lightening the eyes just a tad.

Hilary - I like all the green and he looks relaxed with a nice mane. I like where you positioned him in the frame as well. Overall, a nice portrait.

Don't you just love it when the BG is all clutter?
How about a tighter crop here Hilary, and some selective dodging of facial areas?

Thanks Mark, Rachel, Brendan, Harshad and Morkel.

Morkel, I might try that on the image with mouth closed and see how it looks. Thanks.
