    Default New Canon 1 series?

It looks as if Canon is introducing a new DSLR next Tuesday, and rumors seem to be pointing to a 1D V. That said, who is ready to sell me a used 1D IV?! :)

I know I bought mine in April 2010 and they were just coming out. That's only 1.5 years ago, which would be a very short life-cycle.

    I don't believe the rumour.

I agree with John. I doubt it will be a 1DV—maybe a new 1DS or 5D. I guess we will know on Tuesday.

According to Canon Rumors, Canon will announce a new camera Tuesday. FWIW, here is their take on what will be announced.

    "New EOS
We will see a new camera on Tuesday and below I am confirming what we pretty much already know.
    • 1D/1Ds line is about to be amalgamated. (Name Unknown)
    • Full Frame
    • 18mp
    • 12 fps
    • 61 AF Points
    • New Battery
    • Available in March
    • Price unknown, but I suspect more than the 1D Mark IV"

18mp on a ff seems a bit on the low side to me.

Robert- This may be a trade off for the rumoured high frame rate, and perhaps Canon is going for low-noise to compete with the D3s? All speculation of course.

It will have both high frame rate, and, yes, low noise. This will prove a winning combination, especially if the new AF is up to the task. A few new features will make quite a few of you happy as well.

I was at a photo seminar/trade show on Saturday in Abbotsford, B.C. Canada, and although the Canon reps there wouldn't confirm NOR deny anything "official" (naturally), a few other business owners I talked to, who have contacts on the "inside" told me that what I've heard/read in the latest rumors were basically 95% accurate.

1 series, FF, 18 MP (but higher/better dynamic range than the current 1Ds Mk III), 12-14 FPS, 61 AF pts etc.

Release date approx March, 2012. No price estimated.

Of course until it is "officially" announced, it's still JUST A RUMOR.

They also told me that Canon wants to phase out the 1D series.
