    Default Royal Tern mid-air shake

This image was made in Foster city about two weeks ago. I was inspired by a photograph that Doug had taken in SoCal with a very nice water trail. I didn't get the water trail, but I was pleased with the action. I hope you like it too

Great detail and super timing, I don't mind the eye being closed, it is after all a natural pose.

Thanks Jon, Terns always close their eyes by instinct for protection when they do this. you won't see this pose with an open eye

Great exposure, I like all of the detail in the whites and nice stop action on the head twist.

Great timing on your part Arash, and an unusual pose to cherish. I like hint of droplets, and overall nice and sharp. Very well captured.

Wicked pose and excellent as noted above. But, with that long thin bill and shaggy crest me thinks that this is an Elegant Tern....

Love the shake Arash. Sharpness and exposure are top notch. Another vote for Elegant Tern.
