Nice looking deer, and like the pose, eye contact & surrounding habitat you captured, Phillip. IMHO I don't think there is enough of the tree branch above and tree trunk on right to warrant keeping them, and would crop them out. Think this would give better focus to deer, while still allowing a good amount of surrounding habitat space.

Ah, you have now thrown me with this one Phil, think the other is better.

Agree with Brendan about the branch above and would also lose the nearest tree trunk coming in from the RHS. Is this FF, just find it a little central, guess if you were to have more room at the foot the angle would perhaps give more of the feeling of looking down? Were you shooting on foot or from a car, if on foot a lower POV might have created a better angle, but perhaps the BKG might not have allowed it? Good detail and colour, looks like Autumn is on the turn.

BTW Danny G & Edwin K will be around next week if you are up there.

PS Think you should post the other one later

I really like the golden tones in this image and the alert stance of the deer. I'm not so keen on the central positioning although if you cropped vertically, the head would move off the central position and would give a stronger comp … but that is only my opinion. If you have another shot, I would be very interested in seeing it.
