A tough one to crop with the head looking right and the tail going left. I at first felt a bit more room for the tail but I am finding the image to be well balanced as presented.

A species not often shown here, so nice to see, a crop well managed with nice side lighting.

My first reaction was very similar to Robert's, but I think you have managed very well here and I can't think how I would have changed the crop. Nice expression.

I like the presentation as is. Having the entire tail is a must to depict the species and the tack sharp eye and mouth present a striking image.

    Ben,

An unusual shot as it makes a great change from the usual upright stance.

Great detail and sharpness plus the excellent yawning pose, marvelous

Lovely pose and light..The mouth open adds big time. Nice comp...I would maybe take 5mm off the top

    Hi Ben,
I like this image of a yellow mongoose. Beautiful light and low POV. My immediate reaction was for more space to the right, but the tail prevents any further addition. Under the circumstances I agree with Robert and Hilary.
    Thanks for sharing,
    Mark.

Ben - I agree with the others, the comp and crop work due to inclusion of tail. Open mouth just adds to this fine image.

Ben, for me one of your best images shared here to date, certainly as far as IQ and processing goes .
I like the compo as presented (had he looked left it would have been better), but do wish for the slightest sliver more space behind the tail...
