Default lens Calibration with MacBookPro OS 10.7 & 7D

I just got a new MacBook Pro with OS 10.7 I have a Canon 7D and I have the Lens Align MK II. When I put the disc that came with the 7D with the EOS Utility (Ver. 2.7) into the MacBook it told me that it was too old to work with OS 10.7. I had my Mac computer expert try it and he also tried to find a newer version of it but couldn't find it. So, how can I find a version of the Eos Utility that will allow me to calibrate my lens with the 7D and new MacBook like Artie does? Steve

Your EOS utility is obsolete. you need to download the latest version from Canon website.

We tried that and that didn't work - the new MacBook said it was also obsolete. Do you have a link for one that will work? Steve

looks like it does not support 10.7 yet, you have to wait until Canon adds support for 10.7.

Hi Steve- I have version 2.8.1 and it works on my MB Air running Lion. Canon has a very curious software policy and at least in North America (and I think Europe) does not offer full versions of its software for download- only the updaters are available. The only way they distribute software is on CD or DVD which is stone-age these days! I am a bit hazy on how I did it but if I remember correctly, I installed the version I got with the 1DIV then immediately ran the updater without running the first installed version. Hope this makes sense. Anyway it worked. The updaters are available at:

    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consum...ersAndSoftware

It looks like the latest version is 2.10.2.

Just checked and this newest version will not run. As I said, 2.8.1 did run so I'll have to roll back the versions. Go figure. As I have said previously, software is not Canon or Nikon's strongest suit.

Update- Just rolled back to EOS Utility 2.8.1 and it runs in Lion. Updater is available at:

I assume you can get a Windows version there too, if that is what you need.

Of course it was not what you need! It was getting late in the day! Sorry to sound confused!

Default EOS Utility updater for Mac Lion 10.7

    I had the same problem.
I had version 2.7 installed that didn't work with Mac OS Lion.
EOS Utility updater 2.10.2. didn't work also.
EOS Utility updater 2.8.1 is no longer available
Finally, I updated to version 2.7.2 and it works (after I installed the original file from the disk, I run the updater as John suggested)

You can find the file here:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consum...ersAndSoftware

    Hope this help

You have to choose Mac OSX as operating system in order to see the file under Drivers and Software, not OSX 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6

    Hope this help
