Currently in Florida and the shore birds are not. Waking this evening during sunset, I caught this image using the wet sand to reflect the setting sun.

Hi Jeff, hope you are enjoying Florida anyway! I love the golden tones and the composition, with the shadows framing the two corners. Nice serene feeling to the image. You should come to California some time.

    Kerry,

I want to visit San Fran next year. Long story, I read a book a few years back "The Wild Parrots Of Telegraph Hill". I want to visit this place and photography the wild parrots, it is on my bucket list and close to the top. Are you close.

Jeff, I am six hours away by car. I know the birds you are talking about and have seen a television special about the birds and their "keeper". If you come down here we can photograph feral parakeets, like the ones in the camo theme sticky pic.

Jeff, I love the golden sunset tones. I'm sorry you're not having much bird luck - Florida is a great place to visit. The movie "The Parrots of Telegraph Hill" is one of my favorite movies so I hope you get to visit them. I think cropping a little off the bottom so the shadow starts more at the left corner would be an alternative crop.

I love this kind of images as much as I hate them (just because I am unable to get this kind of results .... yet)

What metering mode did you use for this one?

    PA,

Good question, I was in evaluative mode. Thanks for the comments, you are very kind. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

I have been at the right place at the right time and yet I badly messed up. So there's more than luck there :)
