Cormorant with something to say

Taken on a gray day a couple of days ago at Papago Park in Phoenix. I am here for a month looking for a house to buy.
I think this is a neotropical cormorant.

Roy, nice profile HA, open bill, BG and details. Liked the crop. Stopping down a bit would have given better DOF but looks like light was low.

Nice pose and comp, and beautiful BG. I like the slightly ajar bill. To my eye some of the blacks could go darker. Good luck with the house hunting...winter digs?

Thanks Kaustubh. The bird was nervous so I shot these quickly but you are right the light was low.

Thanks Daniel, the saving to a jpeg seemed to suck some of the contrast out of the photo. Yes I'm looking to get away from those wet, dark winter days in Vancouver.
