Amy, Excellent feather detail captured here, and I like the pose with the curved neck. Good choice of aperture, and if this were mine, I would add a little to the top and RHS.

Ditto Stu on the extra space top and right, but love the detail and IQ here...nice plumage!

Oh, sheesh... then I should not have cropped any of the full frame. Thanks, guys!

Amy, if it were mine, I would have crop from bottom left corner. It is a tight!

Amy, stunning details and S-shape is great. so sharp.

I think f13 has hurt the BG. You were close(and I guess the BG was close too) and wanted a lot of DOF...but am thinking that you could have got away with a little wider aperture. If me, I'd have traded some DOF for more smooth bokeh.

Amy, I think this is gorgeous. The detail, the colors, the intimacy of the portrait. I like it tight as presented-- though it looks like I may be in the minority on that. But I am fond of intimate portraits like this. Excellent job!

great pose and excellent details, I agree with Kaustubh that the BG came out a bit harsh due to f/13. I would have gone wider on the aperture.

Thanks, everyone. Kaustubh, I agree about using a wider aperture. However, the camera was set at f/13 by mistake- I did not even realize it until I posted this image! Normally I would have started off with f/8.

This IMO is just a superb image. Love the detail and sharpness. Great head angle and lighting, and the background does not bother me one bit. Very well done.
