Lovely image! Swet light and colours on this stunning bird! Would sharpnen a bit more - especially the perch.

    Beautiful image Ken,

I would certainly agree with Ofer on sharpening the perch and bird as well as due to heat i think image got that soft look here.

Or may be on the techs i think you could have traded your SS with little more aperture to have better sharpness but yes then you might have the bg details more.

Super comp, and I like the angle of the BE. Colours look spot on, as are the colours in the BG too. The sharpness on the head look fine to me.

Wow, Ken, what a Christmasy looking birdy. Beautiful handling of the colors. You could have dialed in my favorite, ISO 200, with this light and still had another click or two for more depth of field but it still turned out beautiful. Thanks for putting me in the mood for the holidays...ha!

Wicked bird, pose, and head angle. Agree on the rather smooth look to the bird. Color combo is wonderful.

Thanks everybody, looking at this again, I can see the problems, I really needed to up the F stop, but as always I was hoping for a flight short so set up for shutter speed, by the way I missed the flight shot.

Very colorful bird, love the composition, except the DOF is too shallow.
