Another image I have revisited. Taken from the platform at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park in July 2010.

    Rachel,
I like the bear's position amongst the swirling white water. Also really like the color and contrast of the moss covered rock. Eyes look good. A little boost of contrast and a touch of NR is all I'd do if mine.

Love the exposure here . Lovely open mouth and the water around makes this a beauty . The moss laden rock in front adds a lot to the image ....not so sure above the rock behind it and in the ULC .

    Hi Rachel,
I like your composition, especially with the bears mouth agape.
The detail is where it needs to be and all in all a nice image.

Great detail in the bear and I like the turbulent water surrounding it as well.

Good one Rachel, that droopy mouth makes him look like an old man although I bet he could move quickly when necessary. I like the detail you have in this image, not sure how it compares to when you processed it last time, but this looks pretty impressive to me.

Hi Rachel, the pose is great, especially with him/her looking into camera. The addition of the cascading water works very well, especially where it is foaming & frothing around the bear, gives a good sense of speed too.

Obviously the 50D, hi ISO and where you have lightened the face is evident, however I feel it is the best bear shot you have post, with good elements within the whole image, nicely composed. If you go back with the 7D I think you will certainly notice the difference especially with your new PP skills.

    Well done.

Cracking pose here Rachel! I can see some noise where you overdid the lightening a tad, but otherwise this has some of the best IQ I have seen from you lately.
Would be interested to see some other "revisits"
