Like the light hitting the subject. Could be a little lighter to show some detail in the shadow areas. Also might be inclined to crop a little of the left so the subject is not so centered.

Ben - Light looks difficult. Was this a spot, headlights or the setting sun? I agree with Dan's suggestions.

THe PP is brilliant . The fur looks so real , you can touch it !!! The muted light creates a drama of its own !!

    Hi Ben,
I like the wonderful light you had in the early morning but agree with the above comments. I would defnitely alter the shadows and highlights.
Open a new layer, convert to a smart object and then shadows and highlights under image adjustments and you will have so much more control. Try it and I am sure you will be surprised.

Thanks for the comments. It was late evening, just before gate closing. It was the last sun rays that caught the Springbok. All suggestions appreciated.

What I love most about this image are the chocolatey, velvet tones … so rich and sumptuous. Not often do I see these tones that I would hate to see them lost. I do see some sort of vertical artefact in the top left hand corner, not sure where it has come from. Beautiful,

This image certainly boasts the best IQ you have posted here to date, Ben!
Gorgeous light and details with a low angle as well.
I think it might benefit from a little more brightness though...

I very much like the moodiness the side lighting creates, and having it hit that one antler really adds to the impact. However I do agree with maybe just a bit of lightening to the deep shadows.
