Marbled godwit just about to eat a sand flea (some type of Talitridae - I'm not sure which). What do you think about the feet being below the sand line? Maybe I was too low for this one?

The feet do not bother me. What I like about this picture is that even with the background and subject so close in colors, the feather patterns and sharpness on the bird makes for a great image IMHO.

Very nice low angle. The light is extremely harsh. The dark areas behind the bird are some what distracting. I do like the pose and low head angle.

Ditto Maxis. The black thingie behind the rear foot bothers me a lot more than the lack of feet... Very sharp and good job of making the image with a good head angle and the prey item visible.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I can clone out the piece of kelp(?) easily enough. Maybe I'll try to do something with the background as well.

Yep, you can make some of the dark areas "go away" easily enough. Nope, the lack of feet doesn't bother me, as there is room for the virtual feet. I like the pose & action - you mushed the shutter at just the right moment. Cool capture. Thanks for sharing.

Like the perspective and the action, agree with Maxis, the lighting is a killer, where are the clouds when you need them :)

The light is pretty much always an issue here in Santa Barbara. I think the city council outlawed clouds as they're bad for tourism :)
