Perfect flight image after perfect flight image of small speedy subjects is getting depressing.Love the detail of the topside of the near wing.

Arash, you need to post a bad shot every now and then for us to critique.
Another really nice one, although the focus is not as sharp as most of yours.
The flight pose is exceptional though, just a speeding bullet!

you're superhero now arash :) keep postings
Wow!!! Another excellent flight shot. Wonderful eye contact. Well done.

Dan, I think you sometimes confuse focus with DOF. The plane of focus is on the bird's body but since he was really close the near wing is outside the sharpest DOF. I thought this was worth mentioning since I remember I posted a RTH shot a while ago that was one of the sharpest shots that I had ever taken and you mentioned you though it was soft. When the bird is at close range the wings will be outside DOF which is very narrow at 700mm and close to MFD so they will not look as sharp as the head. DOF changes with focus distance so when the bird is farther away you can get the entire body including wings inside DOF. It just depends on the focus distance. In most cases it is sufficient to get the head and the body sharp and not worry about the wings-unless the blur becomes distracting.
Thanks for comments

Superbly captured. Great flight angle and excellent detail.

Cool looking bird and great detail and exp...Colors are great and another in flight winner, I always enjoy your larger versions...Great work
This image looks well beyond acceptably sharp to me. For an interesting discussion/debate on depth-of-field with super-telephoto lenses click here, scroll down to Pane 17, and begin reading.

Another beauty, Arash. All has been said above - keep 'em coming. The larger image reinforces your point about focus vs DOF.
Excellent Arash. Perfect angle, gorgeous bg and exposure. The eye contact is terrific.
I've officially run out of superlatives for your posts now :)
Masterfully done my friend.
A real beauty of a frame, and a very tough subject. Nicely done!
