Hi Jim, nice action caught here. It appears that the focus point is on the body, might sharpen the head a little.

Great action you capture here. I really like the head reflection and the fishing pose. Head does seem a tad soft.
    Well done.

Gary is right, the sharpest part of the image is on the tail. Great pose though, and I like the disturbed water from the strike. Nice vertical comp too.

Super action captured and a great pose. Very difficult to get the correct focus point in a action shot you did well.

IQ looks good and harsh light well ahndled...Head looks slightly softer than the body but I know when these guys stretch there necks they go out a long way so not easy to get the DOF right..Nice one Jim

Love the perch running vertically, the excellent pose and the reflection of the face. Snack is a bonus. It looks like you've handled tough light pretty well, Jim.

Jim, I like the pose and surprised that 1/800 was enough. Well timed. I am guessing lower angle was not possible/optimal or it happened before you could go low.

Hi Kaustubh. A lower angle would have produced an unwanted BG in this instance. Thanks for the comment.
