    Default Gull Portrait

    Hi

    One of my older pics taken in Turkey. I'm not sure about bird ID, But I think it should be a juvenile Lesser black-backed Gull.
    Cropped from vertical to horizontal, added some canvas to right. Sorry for my poor PS skills.

    30D,55-250, Iso 100, F8, 1/1250 s, Av mode, -2/3 EV

    99% sure that this is not a Lesser Black Backed Gull of any age. With a poor light angle and fairly bright sun you pretty much had no chance unless the bird turned its head well towards you; As presented, the face is in shadow....

    Sun angle makes this a hard image to get right. Those bright specs in the BG level with the eye are distracting - cloning the worst two out should not be that hard. Just keep practicing with photoshop. I have found a book by Ellen and Josh Anon useful.
