Today will most likely be the hottest October day on record in the UK, ever!!!! at 29 degrees Celcius. I went off to Barnwell Park early this morning and took this image of a mallard duck just about to dunk his head underneath the water. I like the beads of water on his head as well as those magnificent colours. Barnwell Country Park, Oundle, United Kingdom. I like the image for the wonderful early morning light, detail, background and the pensive thought as the bird is about to duck under the water. A common species, but a different take

    Mark,
This is really cool. A very unusual angle and I like it for all the same reasons you like it. ISO 2000...wouldn't try that with my 7D!!
Love the soft, silky water and the DOF is excellent,
    Gail

Beautiful colors here. Nice water, wonderful greens on the neck and water drops add. He appears to be getting a refection off the water into the eye. Might dark it a little. TFS

    Gary.
