This image was converted to B&W. The colored beak and eye were brought back and the backround blackened.

Dave, this is a very impressive portrait! I like the b&w conversion; the effect on the feathers is nice. The colored bill and eye really stands out. Very nice work!

Hi Dave, nice conversion and I like the color you brought back in with the eye and the bill. The black on the bill blends in to the background a little too much for my tastes, not sure what to do there, but it is still very nice!

Hi Dave, I see Andrews point, but it doesn't catch my eye so much. The red/yellow eye is a killer! Nice design to go B/W on the rest. Looks like very slight PB applied, if so it works great. If not, I need to get new glasses. Great framing and pose. Love the light, it almost looks like a studio shot! Well done!

Thanks for the comments...In some of these images I like to apply a very mild PB. Not so much to distort but to add some texture. No new glasses Jay you were correct.

Dave, that's a very dramatic portrait...just enough color to grab your attention, while the B&W adds a sense of drama/intensity to the image. Andrew makes a good point about the bill but, like him, I'm not sure what you can do about it...well done!
