    Default 2010 Income Taxes Finished...

    Attached Images Attached Images

Now that I have finished my 2010 Federal Income taxes and shipped them off to Chip in Clearwater, I have been trying to get down to the lake by my home in Indian Lake Estates most clear mornings. I created this image on the morning of the 24th with the Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS lens and the EOS-1D Mark IV with the rig supported by the BLUBB. ISO 400. Evaluative metering +1 stop: 1/1000 sec. at f/8 set manually. 45-point AI Servo Rear Focus AF active at the moment of exposure. Lens/camera body micro-adjustment: -4.

Don't be shy; all comments welcome.

ps: This large Sandhill Crane colt is about 7 months old.

Your "close-ups" taken at 800mm are simply superb.
The Sharpness and detail is really good.
Is it the Tripod or the lens or the photographer?

Thanks Dan. In this case it was the BLUBB not the tripod . For the past 28 years there have been lots and lots and lots of folks using the same cameras, lenses, and tripods as me so I like to think that what is in my head and my heart and my soul has a bit to do with it .....

Thanks Grace. A few years back I made a major change in the way that I prepare my taxes; takes me a LOT less time than it used to, about 2-3 days rather than 2-3 weeks!

Gorgeous portrait, Artie. Love the soft colors and those scalloped feathers. Congratulations on getting those taxes done, must be a big weight off.

Love this! The S shaped curve of the neck, the IQ, the feather detail are excellent. I really like the pastel grays throughout the image and that little bit of red and orange is like icing on the cake.

Thanks all I should have mentioned that the BKGR is a big square of sand that it supposed to be a beach but isn't; there is no place to swim!

Hey Artie, great exposure, colors and the feather detail is awesome. I love the BGD. I may have cloned out the light green strip across the top to match the rest of the BGD, my eyes are drawn to it for some reason.

Thanks Herb. I am actually a big fan of suffused strips top and bottom Wish for a bit more in this one . There is actually a gray strip at the bottom that is slightly darker than the rest of the BKGR.

Good plan but only if you want to know peace and happiness . One of the dreams of my life it to meet Byron Katie in person one day, give her a hug, and thank her!
