BPN Member wins major nature award

Congratulations to Ofer Levy on winning the 2011 ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year award this evening.

I was fortunate to be amongst the invited guests to enjoy seeing a fellow BPN'er win a major photography nature award, and with such a superb image which looked amazing printed to 30 inches long (approx). Some wonderful photographs, all taken in Australia, New Zealand, Antartica or New Guinea. Well done Ofer and great to meet you, it was a fun evening.

My husband took this photo of Ofer making his awesome acceptance speech with the Director of the SA Museum. The image is projected, hence the interesting colour cast.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! It is not such a major competition in American terms but it is in Australian terms...
I guess no one will be surprised to hear that as soon as I got the 5000$ cheque, I sold my Canon 600mm f4 IS on eBay, added the 5000$ and bought my dream lens - a Canon 800mm f5.6....
