    Hi,

Another high speed in flight shot of a garden bird.

I have been experimenting with the background on this one to achieve a dark background, but not a black background, that is typical of high speed flash images.

    f16, 1/250, ISO200, 125mm, multiple flash guns

    Comments and feedback welcome.

    Thanks

    Austin

The bird looks nice but the BG isn't working for me. What is it? Looks like a camo net or some such. Anyway, one way to get a BG something other than black is to hit it with it's own light source. You can control how much so you get as dark or light as you want.

There is a little smudge down on the edge of the tail. Not sure if it is from processing or what. The frozen wing looks really cool though.

Agree with Jim and would also like to lighten the top of the head more I seems to blend with the bg !! A slight head turn would have been great !!!

The bird looks great With a super position and all very sharp !!! Excellent !!!

I'm a big fan of dark BG's but this one just doesn't work as too much of the bird gets lost in the BG.......ie. top of the head. I like how you have captured the bird in flight.....good job.
