    Default Common Redpoll

Spring is slow in coming this year where I live. In the meantime, the winter birds are still around to photograph. I liked all the color on this male Common Redpoll. 40D, 500 f/4 +1.4X, 1/125, f/8, ISO 400. Added canvas at the top and removed a couple distracting twigs with quick mask. A question: Do folks find the vine on the right side distracting? Comments are welcome.

Real nice. I have to say I didn't even really notice the vine until I read your question. I guess that means that it didn't distract me. Now that I've seen it, I kinda like the extra character it adds to the perch.

Beautiful bird and great exposure, and I really do like the vine.

Beautiful specimen and well captured. I don't find the vine distracting but I would go for a wider crop.
