Heres a cute little chap with a big name.

This "race" is apparently a little diferent to the one found in Costa Rica, though I had never seen one there in any case

Would make occasional short appearences at the edge of the garden in Chiriqui, Panama and I was lucky to get such a cler shot of this skulker!

    40D 100-400 + 1.4 TC

    SS 1/60! handheld
    Ev 0 ISO 800 f8
pretty much as shot apart froma little NR to BG and sharpening
I also darkened BG in places

    Richard

First of all nice pastel colored bird and sharp features you got here. VWD
i see a bit tight crop is this full frame ?

at 1/60 you really managed well here.
I might give a chance to reduce power of those two dark spots in bg over the birds back.

    Another gorgeous bird, Richard.
    Mital covered all the points.
Unless the bg was too distracting, I would have composed this with a bit more room around.
Nice and sharp. Agree with blending in the dark spots.
Did you get one with some more head turn?

Good repost Richard, and you have captured excellent detail, and achieved good sharpness for your ss. In a perfect world, a better perch would have been better.
