    Default Father and cub

This Tanzania, Feb 2011, Ndutu area. The Marsh pride had three cubs. Convenient for them to drink was this mud pool, not very pretty.
Cloned piece of grass from daddy's head, a small clump of green towards upper left. This some crop, not a lot.
    Nikon D200, f5.6, 1/250, ISO 1400, 70-300mm at 300mm. ISO 1400 is pushing the D200 to far into noise.
    C&C welcome - Tom

Experts will be able to pin point it , but I may try some S/H and sharpening and smoothing BG

Wonderful interaction capture, Tom, and love the composition. Good details, but might add some contrast to give more depth to lion's bodies and a just a tad of saturation. Just MHO, and agree with Harshad, that others with more skill and experience will be able to pin point it, but still very nice image!

Hi Tom, lovely subject and great capture of the two in sync. The shoulders and top of the mane are nice and sharp but I might try some selective sharpening on the faces of the two lions.

    Thanks all.
What I'd really like to add is the left paw of the cub, I don't like to see it "truncated" by the ugly mud.

Like how both are drinking out of the pond. Agree it could use some sharpening.

I also would like it sharper, the problem I'm having is that the image is noisy because the D200 was at ISO 1400.
Guess that is good excuse to get a D3s!!

Tom - nice moment, IQ has certainly suffered due to the high ISO used...
