Default Short Billed Dowitcher ~ Simple Beauty

Image created last Saturday at Plymouth Long Beach in Plymouth, MA as the birds foraged on the outgoing tide in late overcast light

    Nikon D300s, 600VR, TC14EII, ISO 320, f 6.3, 1/1600, CW metering, NearUniWB preset, +1 EV applied.

Image cropped and rotated just slightly.

I question if I should clone out ot at least lessen the impact of the OOF reflection of the bill?

For me everything is sync really good. Light, Compo, Position of bird, that full ripple..

    + is that droplet..

I might give a try in PS Levels to push the Highlights to 233 to 240

    here's a change

I like the low angle here, soft pastel colors and of course the droplet

The soft colors and the pose in the OP is wonderful. The repost by Mital gives it that extra pop. Now I can really appreciate those soft gentle ripples and the water drop! I completely agree with your title, this is "simple beauty".

I like what Mital has done to the bird, but I prefer the darker water of the original. Great subtkle water ripples around the subject! The water drop is of course nice to have. I see what you mean about the bill reflection...it's the vertical part that could be toned down but I don't see any major issue with it as is.
