I believe this is an almost-adult little blue heron. It was a long way off in deep shade and was really an ID photo. But after I used Topaz Adjust, Clean, Pixel Bender and MB Photo Looks I kinda liked it. I did some masking on the eye and beak.

Nice capture given the light, Judy...and you handled the processing well. If it were mine I might take a little bit off the LHS...and tone down the highlights in the log (right below the feet) a bit...and I'd be tempted to evict some of the stray elements left behind by the filters that are floating around the head...they draw the eye away from the bird to my eye. Nicely done!

Judy, I think you did well for the theme here. I like the pose and the composition. I might try to reveal a bit more detail in the face area and maybe lighten it a bit. Nice work with the mood. John makes a good suggestion.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions Denise and John. Here's a re-do. If you didn't notice, the skin was missing off of his left leg, which I forgot to mention and I cloned from the other leg and painted a bit to fix it.

Excellent repost, Judy. I like how your processed it and perfect for the theme. Filtered light creates a nice contrast and further enhanced with you processing. Nice work

Thanks Indranil! I thought it was worth the effort because I liked the blue and white feathers and filtered light.

Very nice repost, Judy. I love the little blues in this stage. Sort of "almost there."

I missed this one first time around. Congratulations on the win. :-) I especially like the colors and the pose of the bird. It looks like an awkward teen. Strong image.
