I like it a lot. From where you stood with the lens you had in your hand you could not have created a better image. Love the soft light and the raised wings. The backrground colors complement the colors of the bird. A second close look reveals too much blue in the whites. Try opening the image up, going to Hue/Sat, select the blue channel and DESAT the blues about 50% and see how it looks. Did the bird take off?

I really like the pose, perch and BG. Artie already mentioned the color cast and I would suggest to add some room on the right side.

Well done and thanks, SD. I would prefer a tad less contrast to preserve the soft light feel of the image. (It is not always necessary to pull the sliders all the way in to the clipping points when you wish to preserve a soft feel to an image.) Great job on the colr cast however.

later and love and we need and appreciate the help.

ps: A brief description of the technique that you used would be icing on the cake.

Great image Denis. This is just so over the top.

Another way to get rid of the color cast is to use a levels adjustment, click on the gray dropper (one in the middle), and using the info pallet pan around the image and find a spot with a neutral color or close to it (i.e. RGB values are close to each other). When you find one, click on it and observe the change. If it goes screwy, CRTL-Z will undo it. I would even try selecting the whites.

    SD,
    Many thanks.
It is so much better with the blue reduced.
I must learn how to do this in PS
    Kind Regards,
    Denis

If the original is RAW you could change the color temperature in your RAW converter. Saves a lot of work.

Lovely photograph. It if BG was most blured was going to be more fine according to me.
