This picture was taken on the southwest coast of Norway. I tried for 3 days to get the image of the Sanderling, just before the wave hit the rock. data:

Overall way too dark. Nice raised wings. Buffy breast indicates a juvenile. Sharp enough. Needs more contrast. The bill tip merging with the rock was bad luck....

Better, but not as bright as mine which still looks a tiny bit muddy. Fill flash would have helped there.

Nice action caught, Geir. I was going to add that the drab eye needed some popping but Artie remedied that with the repost. It looks so much better overall!
