I second everything Judy said! I actually prefer to see this side as it really shows off the feather colors,

Excellent! Perfect head turn to show off that massive bill.

    Hi Juan!

I like this a lot. Beautiful colors, and very nice details. Congratulations! Maybe suggest trimming or removing the really tiny sprout on the bottom or the branch near the right frame ... as my eyes go there?

Great image, Juan. Very nice pose, light, composition, and background. Maybe it's just me, but the bird's head and shoulders seem a bit oversharpened.

Really cool looking bird an a nice perch and smooth BG. If it were mine I might tone down the bill shine a little.

Firstly I like the colours, beautiful bird. Re composition, The bird on the perch is great, but I think there is to much room below the bird, I would prefer less at the bottom, more on top. I agree with comments above, on my monitor the bird looks way to sharp and over processed. The perch looks pretty much OK and looks less processed.

Hi to everyone and thanks for your comments and critics. Some of you have pointed out that the bird is overprocessed compared to the perch and, instead of the fact that I process sharpness to the limit because I love it :D, the differences in sharpening between the head and the tail (for example) or between different sections of the perch are due to deep of field not due to different sharpennings.

Here I applied a selective sharpening to the bird and perch (the same values for both) preserving the BG. The sharpness of the original file is terrific because the bird was really close to the lens (about 3 m), the use of flash and aperture and because, at such distance, the 300VR produce extremelly sharp and detailed results (it looks like a macro lens :)). I am at the office now and do not have the original file here but will try to post a 100% crop of the file later.

Obviously, I selected a set of values for sharpening this file for web presentation and maybe I surpassed my own limit

Here is a 100% crop of the head. Noise reduction on the BG. Sorry, there is an important lose of quality due to jpeg compresion and saving for web.
