I tried to get as much shadow details on the back of the cormy, resulting in blowing out the highlight on the belly of the trout :(

    Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Great action caught here! Gotta love that brilliant eye color! Somehow I would prefer to see the top of the splash sharper- it seems that the high shutter speed would have been high enough to freeze it more.

Fantastic behaviour and action shot! I have no problem with the slightly blown highligths on the fish belly and would leave the splash as it is so it won't look like glass rather than water.

Great head angle with the bird angled a bit away from you. WHITEs not as bad as you thought--just a speckling of burned highlights. I ran a Linear Burn on the belly and eliminated the one huge specular highlight with a small Quick Mask. I am betting that with proper technique you could have saved the WHITEs on conversion with the Recovery slider. All as detailed in Digital Basics. Also, on the WHITEs, there are lots of great threads in the ER.

Love the splash, the fish esp. the tail, and the sharpness. Well done.

Awesome capture with a great low angle angle and super action packed. I'm glad we got a look at the fish's eye
