You were having fun on the coast. Love the image design. The clump of black seaweed balances the composition nicely. Nice high key BKGR too. Perhaps a bit more sharpening of the head.

Lovely shot, nicely balanced, as Artie said. Well captured against the clean BG. Another vote for a little selective sharpening on the head, if it will take it. I might also be tempted to bring out the catchlight if possible. Interesting bill shape on these guys - more of an upturn than our eastern Ruddy.
Bill, They use that bill for prying limpets and the like off the rocks....

Nancy, Beautiful composition. I think Amy makes a good suggestion regarding warming it up just a bit. I'm not a high contrast person but I might add a hint of contrast. Nice capture on the rock against the clean BG.
I sharpened the head some and adjusted some with curves. Thank you all for the suggestions. Hope I made enough of a change to see here. I had a great time with the coastal birds in Oregon. Fantastic that all the beaches are free to the public!
