A black-necked stilt taken several weeks ago. I'd love to know your thought on it. Thanks!

Hi Amy, Cool pose and nice light on the subject. I am seeing a lot of artifacts in the BG how large of a crop is this.

    Hi Don,

Thank you for your reply. The bg is a bit strange but it is wasn't caused by artifacts, as the air was misty/hazy that morning. The crop is about 30%.

Love the open bill, shooting stilt in flight is quite difficult, and you nailed it. I think the image is soft.

Super flight pose, great diagonal comp, and the open bill is terrific. Blacks and whites aren't quite clipped, but I'm wondering what a tiny bit of s/h might do to the bird. Seems to be a little lacking in detail - maybe the light. In any event, I'd love to have this in my files.

Open bill and the long trailing legs are pluses. Both wings raised fully would have been the bomb. I agree with concerns about sharpness and the lack of fine detail (esp. in the BLACKs).
