    I took what I hoped would be a humorous shot at the current theme in my post of yesterday, but I may have missed the mark (I thought it was funny). In any case, here is another post on the theme in a more serious vein. This is the first picture of an American Bittern I ever took. At the time I did not know of their reputation for being elusive and would have deleted the image were I not so thrilled to add another species to my "catch." The image has been minimally adjusted in LR3.

    Wendell, I did think yesterday's post was funny, that was a good one. This post is a good example of the theme and a very unique species. Love to see one someday, nice camouflage image - well done.

    Hi Wendell, I appreciated the humor of your post yesterday! This image is a good example and nice one to post for the theme. I would crop a bit from the right to get the bird out of the center of the frame. I would bet that you only saw it because it moved.
