Managed to get this Babbler out on this perch, located on a small river, as they normally are in thick undergrowth.

What an unusual looking bird. I love the details in the babbler and the water in the BG. I find the large OOF perch a bit distracting but not much you could do about that. I really like the eye.

Thanks Gail... These birds are very sociable birds and are always in large groups, twittering (no not tweeting :-) ) to each other.

Nice to get one in the open that sit still for a while Great feather detail, ditto the unfortunate OOF branch.

Congrats on getting this babbler out in the open. I definitely award extra points to photographers who get less than perfect shots of birds seldom seen. Babblers here in Asia are like your arrow-marked; sociable, not necessarily fearful, just preferring the thick undergrowth. Your angle isn't the best, and I'd clone out that white stuff on the OOF branch in the foreground. But your babbler is sharp, and you've shown us nearly all of the bird. Good work.

Hey Craig, how are you enjoying your new equipment. Good detail on the babbler, and sharp where it counts.
