Natural BG cloned off a branch on top right corner,Could have cloned the white patch parallel to the perch but i thought it wont bother the birds view . Another colorful bird of the western Indian forests . This was shot just after the bird took bath so you can find the feathers wet .

    Shutter speed 1/400
    Aperture F/4
    ISO 500
    Lens 600MM L IS USM
Camera body 1D Mark II N

RAM, I like the repost, the white patch in the BG was not giving any sense of habitat but distracting so I prefer loosing it.

Repost much better and a good job. Biggest problem is that the bird's head is turned away from the angle of its body.... It should at least be on "sraight."

Artie when i joined BPN 2 years ago i did not know what cloning really was . I had posted a bee eater image and said that it was almost impossible to clone the branches on the bird . You did it for me and and proved everything is possible hope u remember that . Since then i have improved my PP skills and started working on points like HA , BG etc . Thank you very much for your support and training .

    Regards

You are most welcome. Do you have ABP, ABP II, and Digital Basics? Each would reduce the learning curve drastically

ABP is the classic how-to book (soft cover) on bird photography. Published in 1998 and reprinted many times since lastly by me. More than 35,000 copies sold. The best info anywhere on exposure and exposure theory. ABP II is the follow-up that begins to deal with digital and includes everything that I 916 pages, 900 images on CD only. (Buy both and save $10 here.) Digital Basics is a PDF sent via e-mail that covers my complete digital workflow and includes dozens of great Photoshop tips.

If only info like this had been available back in 1983 when I started... Follow the links for more info. All ABPs are signed. BTW, thanks a stack for asking

Hi RAM, They have likely been out of stock for about 7 years. Nobody sells them but us :). See here and scroll down for more details. (The links there probably do not work but the info is accurate.) Each of the three is available only through BAA; we send books and CDs overseas every day

Both and save $10. If only one, ABP II is more relevant today unless you wish to learn exposure theory
